Our office provides opportunities for internal funding support and external grant funding management. We also provide administrative support and oversight of all areas of research compliance.

Our Programs

External Funding

In thinking about how you are going to obtain a grant or how to handle a research or creative project, there are a number of factors to consider. The Office of Sponsored Programs and Faculty Development (OSPFD) can guide you through these considerations

Faculty Development

The UW Oshkosh Faculty Development Program includes a variety of programs to support a broad range of research, teaching and other professional development activities. The program consists of ten components listed below. All components require a proposal from a faculty or academic staff member and all proposals (with the exception of Small Grants) are recommended or not recommended for funding to the Provost and Vice Chancellor by the Faculty Development Board.

Research Compliance

UW Oshkosh is dedicated to advancing a culture of ethics, integrity and compliance that is consistent with federal regulations, state laws, UW system and institutional policies.  The Office of Sponsored Programs and Faculty Development is responsible for oversight, policy and procedure development, training, monitoring, and administration of the following research compliance areas:
  • Human subjects research
  • Animal use for research or teaching
  • Research or teaching activities involving recombinant DNA and biological materials
  • Responsible conduct in research
  • Financial conflicts of interest

McNair Scholar

The federally-funded Ronald E. McNair Post-baccalaureate Achievement Program will prepare 25 UW Oshkosh undergraduates annually for doctoral study by pairing them with faculty mentors who assist the students in designing, implementing, and completing a significant research project. The program seeks to increase the attainment of advanced degrees by students from first-generation, low-income, and underrepresented groups.
